Spring Tours

Each station lasts 15 minutes. Only one class will be at any station at a time.

Station 1

Hayride Farm Tour

On our hayride, your group will be “bounced” around our 80-acre farm on a wagon bed covered with straw. Our covered wagons have sides on them to help prevent anyone from falling off and offer protection in case of rain. The wagons will be pulled by a tractor driven by the tour guide.

Station 2

Pot Your Own Flowers

All tour participants will be taught how to transplant a flower into their own Post Family Farm souvenir cup. What a beautiful memento of their visit to our Farm!

Station 3

Snack Time

We will provide everyone in your group with one of our delicious homemade donuts and a drink. We should warn you, some schools tell us they come for the donuts alone!

Station 4

Visit with Farm Animals

Your group will have a chance to learn about and visit with ponies, chicks, goats, pigs, calves, and our friendly farm kittens and cats.  Students will be encouraged to pet the animals, even a pig, if the tour guide can catch one!  Groups will be permitted to feed the sheep and goats, but not permitted in any of the pens with the animals at any time.  Hand washing facilities are available for your use before and after visiting the animals.

Station 5

How Things Grow II

As a sequel to our fall production, we have written another little story about

Farmer Bill and his farm.  What makes this story so impressive is watching your students decorate a story board while your tour guide narrates and directs!  Have your camera ready for this fun display.

Station 6

Straw Area, post & rope maze, giant tube slide, & train ride

Here students–and adults–will be given time to romp in the straw.  We have rope swings, jumps and big bales to climb in the straw area.  You may meander through the maze and race down our side by side tube slides. For the children, this is their time to ride our Pumpkin or Pig Train. A great farm experience!

Before or after your tour, you and your students are invited to hike through our woods and play in our outdoor children’s play areas. You are welcome to have lunch under our Lean-to ($5/class).

DONUTS ARE AVAILABLE FOR YOU TO TAKE HOME!

Fall Tours

Each station lasts 15 minutes. Only one class will be at any station at a time.

Station 1 & 2

Hayride & Pumpkin Picking

On our hayride, your group will be “bounced” around our 80-acre farm on a wagon bed covered with straw.  All tour participants will have a chance to pick their own small pumpkin right from our fields.  Our covered wagons have sides on them to help prevent anyone from falling off and offer protection in case of rain.  The wagons will be pulled by a tractor driven by the tour guide.

Station 3

Snack Time

We will provide all tour participants with one of our delicious homemade Pumpkin Donuts and a glass of award-winning cider from a local orchard. (If you haven’t tried on of our Pumpkin Donuts yet, we should warn you that some schools tell us they come for the donuts alone!)

We have written a rather impressive little story about Farmer Bill and his pumpkins.  And what makes this story even more impressive is watching your students act out all the different parts of the story while your tour guide narrates and directs!  Have your camera ready for this fun show.
